A finely tailored garment is an investment in craftsmanship and personal style. With the right care, your bespoke suits will retain their structure, elegance, and longevity for years—especially in Singapore’s warm, humid climate.

Here’s how to properly care for your bespoke tailored suits.

1. Brush Your Suit After Each Wear

Regular brushing is one of the simplest yet most effective ways to maintain your suit.

  • Use a horsehair brush to gently remove dust, lint, and surface debris

  • Brush in long, light strokes—avoid aggressive scrubbing

  • Helps preserve the fabric’s texture and finish

In Singapore, where dust and humidity are constant, this small habit goes a long way in keeping your suit fresh between wears.

2. Hang It Properly

Proper storage is essential to maintaining the structure of your suit. Always use a wide, structured wooden hanger

  • Supports the natural shoulder shape of the jacket

  • Prevents fabric distortion and stretching

  • Keeps the suit looking clean and well-formed

Avoid thin or wire hangers—they can compromise the shape of a well-tailored garment over time.

3. Let Your Suit Rest

A bespoke suit needs time to recover after wear.

  • Avoid wearing the same suit on consecutive days

  • Allow 24–48 hours of rest between wears

  • Helps fibres release wrinkles and regain shape

  • Rotate your suits to extend their lifespan

This is particularly important in Singapore, where heat and humidity place more stress on natural fibres.

4. Steam, Don’t Over-Iron

Steaming is the safest way to maintain a smooth, polished appearance.

  • Use a garment steamer to remove light wrinkles

  • Gentle heat allows fibres to relax naturally

  • Avoid frequent pressing or ironing, which can flatten and damage fabric

A quick steam before wearing is often all your suit needs to look sharp again.

5. Dry Clean Sparingly

Less is more when it comes to dry cleaning.

  • Only dry clean when absolutely necessary

  • Over-cleaning can strip natural oils and weaken fibres

  • Use spot cleaning and brushing for regular upkeep

  • Choose a cleaner experienced with tailored or delicate garments

For most wearers, occasional cleaning—paired with proper maintenance—is more than sufficient.
